How God Moved in 2019
2019 has been an awe-inspiring year to witness God work through this small, all volunteer run ministry called Biblia Global. Anything great that gets accomplished is ultimately because of Him. In 2019, God allowed Biblia Global to fund the printing, shipping, or the teams to carry in 64,630 Bibles (!) to closed or restricted countries in Asia. This includes:
- 23,545 Bibles to Sqaw Karen Christians in Eastern Myanmar/Western Thailand (to be delivered in 2020). Many Sqaw Karen have been waiting for DECADES for these Bibles!
- 20,000 Bibles to Kachin and Falam Chin Christians in Myanmar (to be delivered in 2020)
- 601 Lao Bibles went to Khmu Pastors and evangelists in Laos. This was a separate special delivery outside of what our teams carry in through the Troas project.
- 13,629 Bibles were printed underground in China for unregistered Christians/churches.
- 1,200 Bibles went to Akha Christians in Eastern Myanmar/Western Thailand. This was the first time the Akha have ever had the complete Bible in the old dialect that the common Akha can understand.
- 5,655 Bibles were carried into China, Laos, and Vietnam by Biblia Global volunteers to unregistered Christians/churches.
15 Bibles also went to Hakha Chin, White Hmong, and Sqaw Karen living in the United States who couldn't find Bibles in their language anywhere in the United States.
Initially, our 2019 matching gift challenge by aaa.ngo started off as a $30,000 challenge, but through God's provision and numerous people challenging us to make the goal larger, God brought in $62,032! aaa.ngo raised the portion they matched to $60,000! Biblia Global then added in funding from the general fund to make the combined total used from the matching gift challenge $125,000. This funding went out last month and funded the Sqaw Karen and Kachin/Falam Chin projects mentioned above. More follow up on these two projects will come in 2020.
