All Saints' News

Dear Friends,

Welcome back to All Saints' Church! Following a lively summer of worship and activities, this Sunday we celebrate the beginning of a new program year and the 147th anniversary of the founding of our parish. For almost a century and a half, All Saints' has been a place of Christian refuge and growth, touching the lives of countless people in Park Slope and beyond. I invite you to come celebrate with your brothers and sisters this Sunday: our 10am service of Baptism and Holy Eucharist is followed by a special Sunday Forum devoted to the history of our parish. Sunday School is in full swing, and our Youth Group is busy planning this year's events. All this is capped off by our annual Founders Day BBQ--so come, bring a friend, give thanks to God for all the blessings of our community, and leave filled, refreshed, and ready for another year of shared life in Christ.

In peace,

The Rev. Steven D. Paulikas

Founders Day BBQ

Come celebrate the anniversary of the founding of our parish and the beginning of a new program year at a BBQ after the 10am service. Food donations welcome, and please sign-up with Lena Mullings to help with grilling and clean-up! And stick around for the exciting announcement of ....

The Photo Contest Winner!

During the BBQ, we will announce the winner of the summer-long All Saints' T-Shirt Photo Contest. You can view all the entries here on our Facebook page; make sure to click-thru and hit "like" on all your favorites!

Youth Group Retreat

The All Saints' Youth Group is joining forces with St. John's Church, Park Slope to go apple picking! Then we'll have dinner together, make apple pies, and sleep over at St. John's. The next morning we'll be back at All Saints' and selling the pies to raise money for the Youth Group. All youth 6th grade and up are welcome! Email Julia to sign-up, or if you'd like to chaperone!

Women's Prayer Breakfast

You are invited to attend our All Saints' Women's Prayer Breakfast anniversary celebration on Saturday, September 27 at 10:30 am. Our special guest speaker will be the very dynamic, Reverend Michelle Nickens. She captivated the audience at our Lenten Prayer Breakfast earlier this year and I know that you will enjoy listening to her message. This is a free ministry event and we serve a delicious breakfast. RSVP to Joy, Lena, or Veronica in person or by email, here.

School Lunch in Belize

Christ the King Anglican School in Belize has asked us to help them support their school lunch program for the current school year, so that all the students have access to lunch every day. If you can help, please make checks payable to All Saints' Church and put "Christ the King lunch" in the memo. Drop them in the plate on Sunday or send directly to the church office. Thank you for your help!
