Edition 13

Last month I missed mentioning two very important sponsors from our Poker Run.  Heritage Hotel gave a prize for a night's accommodation plus breakfast value $250.00 and ProRider donated vouchers for their worthwhile Motorcycle Training and Coaching Courses.

The Sheriff, Pete and his wife Diane do an amazing job of  selling the raffles at our club night.  Thanks to all who support the raffles by purchasing tickets or donating goodies for prizes.  A pair of bike boots donated by Nigel Scott and a muffler donated by Ken Dury were sold by Pete on Trademe  and then the monetary proceeds were raffled off last month.  At the upcoming BBQ, Pete has a bottle of whiskey, compliments of Les Duffield (twinkletoes) and a socket set from Wayne Larsen to be raffled.

The Wednesday midweek rides are proving very popular.  Last week there were 11 bikes on the excursion to Awhitu Lighthouse.

If you have any items/motorcycles for sale, I always have a space to place an ad for you.

I am always on the lookout for members articles.  I always feel a bit guilty when I pinch them from the Facebook page.

Regards
Jeni Van Driel
Coordinator
We have just arrived home from the “Last Okataina Rally”, apart from the weather on Saturday which was rubbish we had a great weekend and the Rotorua members do a great job as hosts, the new rally site will probably be at Waiotapu on the Rotorua  - Taupo road and have cabins instead of bunkrooms.

The Runs Committee still need more Ride Leaders , this is not an onerous job if we get enough people prepared to take a ride. If we don’t get a couple more RIC’s we could have less weekend rides. All you need to do is take one ride every 6-8 weeks and a monthly Runs Committee meeting. All successful branches need volunteers so give Rini van Driel a call on 027 279 0864 or 09 415 6814 to join an essential part of our branch.

Ronnie Run Update

Posters are now out.  We have A3 (large poster size), A4 (standard page size) and A5 (small leave-behinds) which we need distributed around the Auclkland area.  Marketing is critical and it would be awesome to get as much help as possible to spread the word.  Posters in shop windows or counters.  Placement in cafes and bars, car and motorcycle dealerships, businesses, etc.
Please contact me if you need more - email or 021-799-637.  You can collect anytime during the week at my office in Albany - Henry Schein, 23 William Pickering Drive, Albany.

Please register NOW.  It is really easy - go to www.ronnierun2015.eventbrite.co.nz

This run NEEDS your support.  Thank you in advance.

Vaughan Nankivell
We have set-up a fund-raising page through Give-A-Little where you can make a donation online and 100% of the funds goes to Ronald McDonald House Auckland.  You get a tax deductible receipt.  If everyone gave up the cost of a coffee once a month ($5) - that would raise over $12,000 per year from Ulysses North Harbour for RMHA.

Let’s get behind it and set the benchmark as far as what this branch of the Ulysses Club can do for our community.

Givealittle Donations Update
We have raised $355 so far for Ronald McDonald House.  This is a simple and easy way to support the House monthly - every $5, $10, $20 or more goes a long way. Remember that 100% of your donation goes through to the House and anything above $5 is tax deductible.  You will get an emailed receipt within a few minutes of making your donation.  So whether you want to support it with a one-off donation or a regular amount - we appreciate your support.

Why I like Retirement.
Selfie
Saint Peter is sitting at the Pearly Gates

When two guys wearing dark hoodies, and sagging pants, arrive.

St. Peter looked out through the Gates and said, “Wait here - I'll be right back."

St. Peter goes over to God's chambers and tells him who is waiting for entrance.

God says to Peter: "How many times do I have to tell you that you can't be judgmental here.  This is heaven.  All are loved.  All are brothers.  Go back and let them in!"

St. Peter goes back to the Gates, looks around, and lets out a heavy sigh.
He returns to God's chambers and says " Well,  they're gone."

"The guys wearing hoodies?" asked God.

"No. The Pearly Gates."

Unwanted Gift
A constantly nagged and harried husband decided to buy his mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift.

The next year Christmas came again and this year he didn't buy her any present.

His mother-in-law was upset and asked the son-in-law why was she forgotten this time.

The angry son-in-law responded, 'Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year.'

Girl
The daughter asks her Dad, "Dad there is something that my boyfriend said to me, that I didn't understand."
"He said that I have a beautiful chassis, lovely airbags and a fantastic bumper."

Her Dad said, "You tell your boyfriend that if he opens your bonnet and tries to check your oil with his dipstick"
"I will tighten his nuts so hard that his headlights will pop out and he will start leaking out of his exhaust pipe."
From the Friends of Irony

Paddy & Murphy are working on a building site.

Paddy says to Murphy “'I’m gonna have the day off, I'm gonna pretend I'm mad!”

He climbs up the rafters, hangs upside down & shouts “I'M A LIGHTBULB! I'M A LIGHTBULB!”

Murphy watches in amazement!

The Foreman shouts “Paddy you're mad, go home.”

So he leaves the site.

Murphy starts packing his kit up to leave as well.

“'Where the hell are you going?” asks the Foreman.

“I can’t work in the friggin dark!“ says Murphy.
