Hello from Mrs. Wilson in the library!
This year the library is operating on an open library model. This allows students to go as frequently as they wish. I have already had the pleasure of students visiting during their language arts block and entire classes visiting for checkout. Students sill have the option to come to the library during the morning arrival time every day of the week. The open library model allows for students to visit more frequently throughout the school day and week. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction and on research projects throughout the year. I am so excited this year to be able to serve our Apex Cougars!
Our students did a lot of summer reading and we have a ton of books to be re-shelved in our school Library!
If you can donate an hour or two of your time to help shelve books, please consider dropping in next week! Volunteers are welcome any day and any time to the library!
FUN RUN & The After Party Committee Members NEEDED Help us coordinate our biggest fundraiser of the year! Volunteers are needed to help with day-of event set up and tear down, signage creation, donation collection and raffle basket creation, raffle ticket sales, etc. Contact email@example.com to volunteer!

If you are interested in helping out your child's teacher as a Room Parent this year, please let your teacher know that you would like to do this and ask for their OK to pass on your name and email address to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to help out, but would prefer to share the duties with another parent, it is totally acceptable for 2 or 3 people to pool resources to help the teacher.
Once things have settled down a bit, we will schedule a Room Parent meeting, where we can discuss what is typically involved in this role. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any general questions.
