The European Parliament deals with important legislation which has a direct impact on fish stocks and the aquatic environment.
The Recreational Fisheries and Aquatic Environment Forum has been established to help the MEPs understand what can be complex issues affecting 25 million EU angling constituents.
A new filmhas been launched on the 11th October 2016 in the European Parliament calling for the socio-economic importance of recreational fisheries to be taken into account in the long term management of European Seabass. Early next year the European Parliament and Council will receive the Commission's proposal for a long term management plan. The work on a final plan will most likely continue in 2018.
