Hi there,

Well, the festive season is nearly upon us. We hope you're feeling organised, are starting to wind down and get a chance to recharge the batteries over the holiday season.

It's been like Christmas all year at Tinpot Hut Wines with a steady flow of accolades for a whole bunch of our wines... The latest two are hot off the press:


Gold - Sydney International Wine Competition


Just announced, our 2012 Marlborough Pinot Noir has just won gold at the 2015 Sydney International Wine Competition.
This comes hot on the heels of Yvonne Lorkin matching the same Pinot Noir with Duck Sliders & Asian Slaw in the latest edition of Dish Magazine (Dec/Jan) calling it "a wine that could easily become a best friend".

Fi's Christmas Wine/Food Match

For me the festive season is all about enjoying fresh, delicious food. Match it with the right wine and it's truly heavenly.

Here are a couple of my favourite wine/food matches:


Avocado Dip 

  • Avocado (roughly chopped)
  • Tomato (roughly chopped)
  • Red onion (finely chopped)
  • Coriander (lots, finely chopped)
  • Lime juice (lots, freshly squeezed)
  • Chilli (finely chopped, to taste)
  • Salt
  • Pepper 
Mix together and serve with fresh seafood, corn chips, fresh bread or sliced raw veges.

Serve with chilled Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc to bring out the lime and coriander flavours.


Zesty Dessert

Spoon lemon, lime or orange sorbet into bowls and top with fresh raspberries.

Pair with chilled Tinpot Hut Late Harvest Riesling to balance the zesty flavours. 


Top Sauvignon Blanc
- WineNZ 2014

Our 2014 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has just unanimously been judged top Sauvignon Blanc for 2014 by WineNZ Magazine.  
Judges had this to say:

“Very tight and focused, with notes of tomato stalk and red capsicum”.

“It has real concentration without becoming over the top: textbook Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc style, very well done”.

“It has a complex palate with notes of blackcurrant leaf with a flinty minerality and good weight”.

“Rich nose, ripe herbal characters, nice palate weight and texture”.
