We are grateful to everyone who participated in the Thanksgiving Outreach ministry, either by contributing food, donating money, or assembling to-go meals. Wishing everyone a restful holiday!
Incense Alert
Heads up: Incense will be used during the 11:10 am service this Sunday, December 1 for the First Sunday of Advent.

This Sunday: Boxwood & Beignets

Please mark your calendars for the sixth annual "Boxwood & Beignets" event in Witter Hall on December 1, the first Sunday in Advent. At 10 am, we'll make Advent wreaths from fresh boxwood while enjoying beignets, hot chocolate, coffee, and fellowship. Children can make their own mini wreaths, too. Wreath-making supplies, including candles, will be available on a first come, first served basis. $20 suggested donation. Questions? Contact Janet Holladay (225-925-8634) or Cheryl Palmer (225-362-3636).
Advancing Advent
Fr. Chris Golding put together a short list of readings and reflections for the Advent season. Take a few minutes to look it over and find something new. All suggested books are available online from BetterWorldBooks, Book Depository, or Amazon. Happy Reading! See the list HERE.
Deadline for January Baptism
The next opportunity for Holy Baptism at St. Luke's is coming up in January. Please let Fr. Chris know by December 6 if you are interested: (225) 926-5343 or frchris@stlukesbr.org
Dec. 1-16: Christmas Angel Outreach
Our annual Christmas Outreach Ministry is a partnership with Volunteers of America to provide Christmas gifts to individuals in need. VOA has provided us with specific gift requests which can be found in the church foyer starting on December 1. Please claim a Christmas Angel card then shop for someone in need!

The wrapped gifts—with outreach cards attached by tape—are due to the church office on December 18. Thank you for participating! Questions? Contact Deacon Reese: reese@stlukesbr.org.
Dec. 2: Stephen Ministry Presents
Have you ever wondered what Stephen Ministry is? This is a confidential, one-to-one Christian lay ministry, when a trained Stephen Minister walks with another who may be going through a difficult time, such as loss of a loved one, loss of a job, health matters, or chronic illness—just to name a few. One way to look at Stephen Ministry is that we are the “after people”—we are the ones who are there after the initial event, and will continue to show and be there for the one who is hurting. Some relationships have lasted for years; some are briefer.

St. Luke’s and St. James collaborate to bring this ministry to those who are hurting. Those involved are: Debbie Copeland, Owen Cope, Allen Paterson, Carlie Boone, Memrie McDonald, Jackie Holdcraft, Mary Tharp, Mary Zwez, Laura Rempert-Kraueter and Becky Williams.

Please prayerfully consider if this ministry might be a good fit for you, and join us on Monday, December 2 at 6 pm for an informational presentation to learn more details. Questions? Contact Becky Williams: bwilliams@stlukesbr.org.
