UPCOMING EVENTS | WAYS TO SERVE

This Week in Worship

Renewing Gifts and We Are United

Acts 2:1-12; Isaiah 11:1-3
What do you need right now? For whatever is going on in life . . . That’s our question as we learn about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, gifts for living life well, now.

Sunday is Pentecost, known as the "birthday" of the church, the day on which the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles. This year we celebrate Pentecost with a focus on ways the Spirit empowers us as outlined in Isaiah 11.

Wear Red for Pentecost
We encourage you to wear one or more of these symbolic colors: red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, yellow, silver, or gold.

Mission Trip Commissioning
On Sunday we will commission 120 youth and 20 adults as they prepare to serve this summer. Our high school group will serve in Louisville, Kentucky the week of July 7 and our middle school group will serve in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania the week of July 21.

We Are United Musical Drama Presentation
On Sunday at 11:00 am in the fellowship hall, children and youth are presenting the dramatic musical We Are United. In this Henotes Island adventure, castaways compete to win the grand prize. They discover that the real way to win is to work together as one in Christ.

We Are United
Saturday, June 8

In addition to a Sunday morning presentation, the children and youth spring musical drama, We Are United, will be presented Saturday, June 8, at 5:00 pm in the fellowship hall. Make plans to attend!

Sign Up to help at Education Building Welcome Center

We all love Shady Grove, but it can be hard to find your way around if you are new to our buildings. The Children's Council and Hospitality Team are joining forces to try to help newcomers on Sunday morning feel welcome and informed. The idea is that two adults (children can help too!) will stand in the foyer of the education building to welcome newcomers and help them find their way to Sunday school classes. For more information, look for the Sign Up Genius at www.shadygroveumc.net/children. Questions? Contact Sarah Hardymon. EMAIL SARAH | VISIT SIGN UP GENIUS
