We are all looking forward to Spring and sunshine as we move into February! As the darkness turns into daylight it may become harder for students, parents, teachers and principals to focus at school. Thanks for helping us finish the second semester strong!
We have understandably seen a rise in absences this year, due to illness, positive Covid-19 tests, and other influences. It is important for students to communicate with their teachers via email about their absences, and Canvas provides easy access to teacher emails. Teachers may have up to 30 students absent per day, and the communication helps them provide opportunities through Canvas for students to stay caught up in class.
Spring Parent Teacher conferences for Middle School and High School have been canceled this year. If you have concerns about your student that weren’t addressed during Fall Conferences, please be sure to contact those teachers. All staff emails are found on the ERHS website
. The bell schedule will follow a normal week Feb.14-17, but there will be no school on Friday Feb 18, which is a teacher in-service day. Elementary Spring Conferences will occur as scheduled on the district school calendar.
Counselors are talking with students this month about their 2022-2023 course requests, prompting students to think about several important questions: How do I best prepare for what I want to do after high school? How do I continue to challenge myself? How many rigorous classes are too many? What will my homework load look like? How do I strike the right balance between academics and all my other activities? Parents, I encourage you to talk through these important questions with your student in the coming weeks, and contact our curriculum office at 742-2740 if you have any follow up questions, or if you would like additional information.
This year’s School Climate & Connectedness Survey window is now open until March 25th. The survey gives an opportunity for us to view how Eagle River High is performing in a number of areas through a "parental lens". Please take the time to help us improve our school. The link is provided below to take this important survey.
On March 16th, we will host our annual 8th Grade Information Night. If you know any current 8th graders or community members who would like to learn more about our school and our programs, please pass along this opportunity to tour the building and discover more about Eagle River High School.
