Hi <<First Name>>,

It's not long until the start of term – we cannot wait to have you join us!

To help you immerse yourself in our UAL community and get to know your peers, we'll show you how you can get involved in various projects across the University, take part in our Welcome Week events and stay safe ahead of the start of term and beyond.

For information on Welcome Week and how to get involved in our UAL community, check out our Big Welcome guide.

Let Welcome Week begin!

Complete our consent training

We’re committed to promoting a positive consent culture, which is why we encourage everyone to complete our online training module where you'll learn about consent, how to tackle rape culture and where to find support.

Please be aware the module includes scenarios that discuss rape and sexual assault. We recommend being in a safe space when you complete the module and considering if there is any support you might want or need.

UAL's anti-racism strategy

UAL is committed to becoming an anti-racist university. To achieve this, we brought together students and staff to inform our anti-racism strategy, which includes objectives to decolonise the curriculum, increase diversity among students and staff, and implement anti-racism education across the University.

Visit our website or download our anti-racism action plan to find out more.

Decolonising the arts

Students have previously been involved in our Changemaker programme: An initiative which supports students to help dismantle systemic racism in academia and the arts and is set to be rolled out across all Colleges.

UAL is also home to the Decolonising Arts Institute, which seeks to challenge colonial and imperial legacies, disrupt ways of seeing, listening, thinking and making to drive cultural, social and institutional change.

This year, we also started hosting our annual Earth Day event, set to take place again next year.
