Welcome to the summer edition of the Regional Outlook newsletter. As we look forward to a break over summer, we also need to ensure we're prepared for emergencies such as bushfires and floods, which can occur after periods of drought, read on for some valuable tips.

Managing livestock through drier conditions
Dry weather can be accompanied by an increase in plant poisonings as stock chase green feed, and common cattle diseases such as pink eye and worm burdens can also cause issues in herds in the current conditions. Read more

Ticks and Theileria risk for cattle
The prevalence of ticks and tick related cattle diseases increases over the warmer months. Two to look out for are the paralysis tick, which can affect young calves, and the bush tick, which carries the Theileria parasite. Read more
