2019 RIAL Bilateral Cooperation Activities begin 
The first of the 8 activities selected within the 12th RIAL Call for Bilateral Cooperation will take place this week. From June 25 to 27, three delegates from the Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations of Barbados will participate in an exchange with the Ministry of Labor of Panama on Labour Inspection, specifically on management, monitoring and follow-up, as well as the use of technology. The goal is to strengthen the actions carried out by Barbados on this matter. We wish them great success!

49th General Assembly of the OAS will take place this week 
The 49th Session of the OAS General Assembly will take place from June 26 to 28 in Medellin, Colombia, under the theme  “Innovating to Strenghten Hemispheric Multilateralism”. During this period, the Heads of Delegation, the Secretary General, and the Assistant Secretary General will discuss the region’s most urgent topics, receive reports of the Councils and Commissions of the Organization, and decide on the best ways to continue moving forward. One of the activities to take place prior to the Assembly is the Dialogue between representatives of civil society and the Heads of Delegation, the Secretary General and the Assistant Secretary General, which will take place on Wednesday 26th with the participation of workers' and employers' representatives.

ILO International Labour Conference ends with new Convention and Declaration 

On Friday, June 21st, the Centenary Conference of the International Labour Organization ended with the adoption of a Convention and Recommendation to fight harassment and violence in the world of work; and a Declaration to impulse a human-centered future of work.
The Declaration adopted has a strong focus on enabling people to benefit from changes in the world of work, by promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable growth, full and productive employment, and the strengthening of the institutions of work.
