World Day of Decent Work 2019
|
|
The World Day of Decent Work, an initiative of the International Labour Organization, was commemorated on October 7th, to reaffirm the commitment of all actors to achieve that all forms of work take place in conditions of freedom, equity, security and human dignity, respecting the principles of gender equality and non-discrimination. Within the 2030 Agenda, Decent Work is one of the axis of Sustainable Development Goal #8.

New Minister of Labor appointed in Costa Rica
On October 3rd, Geannina Dinarte Romero was sworn in as Minister of Labor and Social Security of Costa Rica. Mrs. Dinarte holds a degree on Political Science with emphasis in Government and Public Policy, and a Masters on Project Management. She served as Minister and Vice-Minister of Economy, Industry and Commerce during the 2014 – 2018 administration.
As Minister of Labor, Mrs. Dinarte has expressed her interest in working to increase formal employment, as well as labor insertion, always through a perspective of social dialogue.
