OAS opens the 11th Call for Bilateral Cooperation between Ministries of Labor
Has your Ministry identified a particular area in which it needs technical assistance? Do you want to know about the experience and lessons of other Ministries of Labor? This is the opportunity!
We invite all the Ministries to present their cooperation proposals, following the guidelines of the 11th Call, which will remain open until March 20, 2018. The RIAL has carried out almost 100 bilateral cooperation activities with excellent results, this is the time to renew and strengthen collaboration among the Labor Administrations of the Americas. Brazil ratifies the Convention on Domestic Workers
On January 31, 2018 the Government of Brazil deposited the formal instrument of ratification with the ILO to ratify the Convention on Decent Work for Domestic Workers, 2011 (No. 189) . Accordingly, Brazil became the twenty-fifth member State of the ILO and the fourteenth member State in the Americas region to ratify this Convention.

Panama: First country in the region to join the Equal Pay Coalition, and second in the world to launch it
The International Coalition on Equal Pay (EPIC) was launched in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the aim of mobilizing multiple actors in different countries to reduce the wage gap between women and men, which is around 15 percent in this region according to data released on January 29 at the inauguration ceremony in the capital of Panama.
