I loaned money from my father & younger sister to get an iPad and the iPad paid for itself in a few months time. Today, all my work happens on an iPad and I’ve made much much more from it than i invested.
I spent more than 50k on having my website developed last year and it has had a very positive impact on building credibility and attracting valuable work.
I dug a hole in my savings to buy a Mac Last year and the amount of time I saved with it is insane. I no longer have to turn down projects that need heavier softwares. I made 3 times on a project simply because I could use photoshop to create a simple animation that the client wanted. I use my Mac to record and edit videos. It’s paid me back in ways I never imagined.
I invested in a $1,000 course this year. I just paid the last instalment of the course this month and while I still can’t put a number on the returns it’s given me, I would like to list out some very prominent changes that happened:
My work structure is 60% more organised and streamlined. It’s almost effortless to find and place something, be it tax documents, project briefs, agreements or invoices. Everything is in my second brain and I can tell you where you will find a file even when I’m half asleep.
My content consumption has got a new structure. My relationship with data has improved. With better consumption, my expression has improved. You can see it in the newsletters I’ve written over the last few months.
I understood my own process of creating an artwork better. Hence, I was able to build a course that can help you build your process.
I gained so much confidence by just being a part of the community that the course offered. They appreciated my work and showed interest in learning it. Their trust gave me the confidence that I could build a course and price it at $500!!
The first 2 people who enrolled in my course, paid me back for the course I invested in. Everything else will be what I make as a tangible result (and profit) of investing in myself.
