Basura Bash 2016

Basura Bash is the largest single-day waterway clean-up in Texas and over the past 17 years has continued to grow in number of volunteers and waterways cleaned.

This year volunteers will clean the banks of the San Antonio area waterways at various parks and creek tributaries listed. Basura Bash has been a success because of hard working, fun-loving, dedicated volunteers. This year one of our neighbors has created a Dignowity Hill team and there is plenty of room left for volunteers to sign up!

Signing up is pretty simple.
Go here.
Step 1: Click the drop down bar and select "Dignowity Hill Neighbors" as your team.
Step 2:  Click the next drop down bar and select "Salado Creek - Pletz Park".
Step 3: Fill out your name and contact info and click Register!

For more info on the Basura Bash, visit their page
here, or e-mail us at and we'll point you in the right direction.

DiggyHill Kickball Team

Place Changing: Living Stories of the Eastside
Dreamweek has come and gone, and if you didn't make it to any of the events, I'm sure at least one of your neighbors can fill you in on what occurred. One of the most enjoyable events was one that focused directly on the Eastside, "Place Changing: Living Stories of the Eastside". Many of our Dignowity Hill neighbors were attendance and our very own native resident, Dianne Green and Ella Austin Youth Director Linda Cherry both presented to the crowd.

Click on the link below to check out a great overview of the event.

SAPD-East Substation
Captain's Meeting
SAPD-East Substation holds a Captain's Meeting for community members every other month. The last one took place on Tuesday, January 19th. The meeting was standing room only, with about half the crowd being made up of Dignowity Hill residents. Thank you to everyone who came out. SAPD recognizes our presence and our voices. Keep up the great work!

The next meeting will be in March. We will be sure to get the notice out to everyone ahead of time.
Gardopia Gardens
Gardopia Gardens has made a magnificent impact on our community in a very short amount of time. If you haven't heard of them yet, you will very soon.

Did I mention that they are always looking for volunteers? No green thumbs needed. ;)

Click here to find out when the next Garden Work session will be in our neighborhood.

Be sure to visit and like their Facebook page so you can stay up to date with the amazing things they are doing throughout community.
