Sidney Family Day Weekend - A Lego Brick Festival. Sidney, British Columbia – Feb. 7-9
  • This year's festival theme is marine! The Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre will host a variety of Lego activities—mixing science, engineering, art and more—all weekend long! Challenges include "create a creature" and "build a boat" (we'll test its ability to float!). More info at oceandiscovery.ca
SeaWeb Seafood Summit. New Orleans, Louisiana – Feb. 9-11
  • The SeaWeb Seafood Summit brings together global representatives from the seafood industry with leaders from the conservation community, academia, government, and the media for in-depth discussions, presentations, and networking around the issue of sustainable seafood. Ocean Acidification Expert Forum and Town Hall. Victoria, BC - Feb. 17-19
  • Hosted by MEOPAR (Marine Environmental Observation Prediction and Response), the Ocean Acidification Expert Forum will bring researchers and end-users together to examine Canadian needs, priorities and opportunities for ocean acidification research, and will produce a strategy white paper to guide Canada’s ocean acidification research effort for the decade to come. Ocean Literacy Pro-D Day. Victoria, BC -  Feb. 20 
  • In partnership with Ocean Networks Canada (ONC), Canadian Network for Ocean Education (CaNOE), and Northwest Aquatic and Marine Educators (NAME), the Royal BC Museum welcomes teachers of grades 6-8 into galleries and collection areas. This Professional Development day will focus on Ocean Literacy, and provide ideas for integrating ocean related content into museum visits and in the classroom. OceanTalks. Victoria BC -. Feb. 25
  • Hillside and Wildlife Edutainment Inc. launch OceanTalks, a series of talks covering current topics related to the ocean's sustainability plus video footage capturing marine life in their natural habitat. The Journal of Ocean Technology (JOT).  Summer issue deadline: Mar. 13
  • JOT invites the submission of technical papers that describe cutting edge research related to maritime domain awareness for its summer 2015 issue. Papers should present the results of new (i.e., not previously published) research in ocean technology, science or engineering.
