Since the last Blues News we have had a number of farewells and goodbyes which show the ever changing things that occur through the transition of time. We passed our sympathies on and said our farewells to Wendy Minsdale a former junior club stalwart and club supporter, RIP.
Representative season is upon us well and truly and it was great to see Liam Squires and Shane Christie involved with the All Black Training team recently. The Makos look in good shape and good to see Nelson Men leading the way, Hawkes Bay have been despatched and we look forward to more good results. Clubrooms will be open for the Nelson Home Games.
We have also hosted the Nelson College First Fifteen Press Cup team and Second fifteen for various pre- match and after- match functions in a concerted effort to continue to build our relationships with the college, these young men are a pleasure to have in the clubrooms and a credit to their families the way they behave and carry themselves. We wish them well for the Press Cup Final.
Our club dinner and prize giving this year is going to be held at the club rooms with a sit down meal and function which we will be advertising soon, Junior Prize giving will also be going to be held the following day we look forward to a great evening please bring your partners accordingly.

Junior club report
Greeting to all as we just about say goodbye to another season of JAB Rugby . Firstly I must start with some congratulations . The weekend just gone saw the annual Whitwells 7 a side tournaments for grades U7 , U8 and U9 . I stated in last weeks junior newsletter I had known of one team only winning their grade in the time I have been Junior club captain…Well now we have 3 . U7 Blue coached by Aaron Potter and Scott Ford and U8 Blue coached by Ash Millar and Jonny Claridge both won their respective tournaments . This is a fantastic achievement by both , congratulations to all , I have talked to Ash his team had a rocky old day with sick kids leaving them low on their usual squad numbers and the final went to extra time before prevailing 3-2 over WOB . Well done and thanks to all that participated , you have certainly done Nelson RFC proud . With the next 7 a side tournament in two weeks we hope to have more success
Two weeks only to go this season and the following weekend , September 6th is set down for prizegiving. A two part day with younger grades U6-U10 from 11.30 till 1pm and all other grades 3.30 till 5pm with senior prizegiving the same evening . Please feel free to join us for any part of the day to celebrate the 2014 season.
