May Newsletter edited by Trevor Pickett

It’s been an exciting few weeks at the shop, as not only have the new products started to arrive but our new space, the Queensbury Room, has had its first small event that was a success so we are now getting ready for our next three events starting with our ‘Father’s Day and Mens Ideas’ event which opens on 6th June, so in time to be organised for Father's Day on Sunday 18th

New Wheeled Holdalls and Suit Cover holdall
Finally we have found a range of wheeled luggage from a small workshop who offer the after sales care service that matches our expectations. Harriet has quite rightly dug her heels in until we could ensure such a service as we cannot offer wheeled luggage unless we can economically repair it (should it ever require it).  Eureka! We have now introduced wheeled bags from two of our suppliers and the first to arrive this week is either a fully structured suitcase or a softer less constructed sporty version both in full leather with the next wheeled range due in the coming weeks which will include the canvas range.
In this new range we have also included a grip that also has the unique ability to be a suit carrier alongside a holdall - the short video shows how it works! Watch Video
Now you can see why we needed to have the clearance with new products coming in now on a weekly basis! See the further 10% discount for this weekend.

The Bank holiday discount on the clearance products still available will finish Monday the 30th, has helped us make space for the new ranges that are arriving, and one of the first new leather items to arrive are our carry – on size wheeled suitcases.

Father’s Day
In our programme of events, the next one is focusing on men’s product or gifting alongside hero-ing favourite companies of ours that have a synergy with us but product lines that we don’t carry.

Door Knobs

Having been asked where our billiard  ball door knobs came from in our games room in our Burlington Garden shop, I have always vaguely said  that Amanda (who runs our business development) had found them in Notting Hill but then thought I should do some further research!  So for those who have commented on our rather ‘on theme’ door furniture I now have the name of the shop which is called Chloe Alberry and she has an amazing selection of door and wall furniture. If only I had come across them before, I could have sourced lots of items from their extensive range so it’s worth a visit to the shop or have a look at the website

We think the jolly colour options pick up on the coloured points of our roll up and backgammon boards

I am always dubious about shops that are described as "concept / capsule / edited type ‘Spaces’. I never buy on principle, whether its faux antiques or retro vintage as you can buy the real thing more economically and better quality at shops such as Goodbrey and Dix Sept in Suffolk. What with fussy packaging of an over designed basic utensil when a perfectly functional version can be bought at a fraction of the price!
But there are always exceptions to the rule and whilst in Paris at Colette I discovered ‘See’ eyewear which are magnified sunglasses - very comfortable to wear and great designs and at 30 euro's a pair they are both stylish and economical. The price of an economy ticket on Eurostar in one of their new trains makes a satisfying trip to Paris and whilst there I would also recommend a visit to the Musee Les Arts Decoratifs and see the Fashion Forward, 3 Siècles de Mode (1715-2016)

With the sun in the sky today and June 1st around the corner -  start the month light and bright !

The album cover was the inspiration for a yellow bag teamed up with the teal lace stole for that Gershwin glamour

We always like our enterprising customers and one of our Sloane street clients has a service for flowers online 'Flourish' and thought we should share the love. They would like to offer our newsletter readers a discount if they use this code and they will receive 20% off a bouquet which is a lovely idea (especially if you may have blundered on the wrong present for a loved ones birthday – but that’s another story!)
Use Promo code Pickett20
We thought that we should apply the same gesture and so the two Pickett items below will give you the same discount.  Offer ends 15th June
