Paint The City Updates
The Greater Syracuse Land Bank has been actively coordinating with Syracuse City School District (SCSD) and the community to facilitate art projects on boards used to secure Land Bank houses. Currently the Land Bank is working with seven Syracuse City School District art classes, several community organizations, and multiple local artists who have agreed to design and paint their own boards. After a long winter the paint has arrived and boards will be prepped and primed next week. Boards will be delivered to the schools in early spring. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for continued updates.
The Land Bank will be holding a public event for all to attend to paint your own board. The Paint The City Community Event on May 13, 2017 will be held at South Presbyterian Church - 2110 S. Salina St. from 10am - 3 pm. Please RSVP via the Facebook event page. The Land Bank is looking for donations for paint supplies and food for this event. If you are interested in helping out then give us a call at 315-422-2301.
Land Bank Americorps Liam Kirst and Logan Reidsma were interviewed by the Post Standard. Read the story here.

Upcoming Pocket Park Meetings
The Land Bank is planning to make landscaping improvements on our vacant lots to create three pocket parks on the Northside, Westside, and Southside. Sites on the Southside and Westside have been selected after a community meeting - Don’t miss out on the Northside pocket park meeting taking place next week. We are seeking feedback for ideas from the community in order to turn one of our vacant lots into a pocket park. We will present 3-4 potential sites for neighbors' consideration and brainstorm concepts for site design. Then, SUNY ESF landscape architecture students will develop those designs. We'll return in at the end of April or beginning of May to get additional neighborhood input on a selection for a final design. The park will be installed by June 30th 2017.
Come help us select a site and let us know what you want to see in a neighborhood pocket park!
