Eagle River High School
December 2019

 PRINCIPAL
TIM HELVEY

Eagle River High School Parents and Community,

With the holiday season upon us and the one year anniversary of our November 30th earthquake I am thankful for our school community.  I’m truly thankful that there were no injuries during the earthquake, and that our students, staff and parents responded with hard work and helpfulness after the quake.

Our students and staff continue to strive for excellence. Eagle River High School has seen PEAKS test scores continue upward for the third year.  I would like to congratulate our girls swim team for their performance at the state swim meet finishing 2nd.  Congratulations is also in order for our rifle team who finished the season as region champs for the second consecutive year.  Congratulations to all our students and athletes for their hard work and commitment to Eagle River High School.

We are nearing the end of 1st semester.  This means encouraging our students to complete homework and study hard for finals.  The end of the semester is  a critical time for diligence and ensuring students receive needed credits to graduate. Semester grades also determine eligibility for 2nd semester sports.  Finals this year are on the 18th and 19th of December.

Lastly, I want to wish everyone in our school community a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.  Thanks for a great 1st semester.

Schedules for second semester
Student will receive their second semester schedule on December 16, 2019.  If they have concerns about this schedule they should see their counselor during that week.  Once students return to school on Monday, January 6, 2020, they will report to their first period class where they will receive their schedule again.

During the spring semester of 2020 our counselors will meet with students regarding course selection for the 2020-2021 school year.  We are moving toward an online process where students and parents can make these course selections through Q.  More information and specific directions will follow on this process.
