Guidance for infant feeding and counseling in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic has become a critical nutrition challenge. Access USAID's Advancing Nutrition new counseling package for recommended practices and user-friendly graphics that can be used with low-literacy communities in different contexts.

IDEAL consulted with a range of stakeholders to inform this peer-to-peer learning series, which will evolve in response to implementing partners' expressed needs.

Solicitation Briefing: Draft Ethiopia Development Food Security Activity Request for Applications

Photo of emergency practitioner providing cash voucher to participantUSAID’s Office of Food for Peace will host a virtual solicitation briefing on the Draft FY20 Development Food Security Activity Request for Applications for Ethiopia on May 7, 2020 from 8 to 10 am ET. Virtual attendance is limited to no more than four people per organization. Participants must RSVP for this briefing by April 30, 2020 by completing the Google Form here. 

As a reminder, comments on the draft FY 2020 DFSA RFA for Ethiopia are due on May 15, 2020 at noon (ET). As stated in the draft RFA, all comments and inquiries should be directed via email to

Request for Applications: Market Development Strategy for Improved Latrines and Hand-Washing in Niger

Photo of emergency practitioner providing cash voucher to participantPRO-WASH is pleased to announce the release of the Market Development Strategy for Improved Latrines and Hand-Washing in Niger Request for Applications (RFA). The activity will fund one award under this RFA up to $100,000 USD for a study period of up to six months.

This RFA is designed to solicit applications for a market development strategy for sanitation and hygiene supplies and services for RISE II implementation areas in the Maradi and Zinder regions of Southern Niger.

PRO-WASH is receiving questions until 5 PM ET on May 6, 2020 and submissions are due by 5 PM ET on May 20, 2020

Call for Proposals: COVID-19 Response Resilience in Wildlife Community Small Grants | Deadline: May 15, 2020
The Lion’s Share Call for Proposals for the Resilience in Wildlife Community Grants supports initiatives in communities dependent on wildlife-based tourism and income from associated activities in order to withstand this current outbreak of pandemics and other global shocks. These grants (US$ 20,000 – 50,000) are disbursed to non-profit organizations in developing countries seeking funds to catalyze community/local-level action to protect severely threatened ecosystems or wildlife in their last strongholds.
