20 countries participated in the RIAL Workshop on Labor Legislation
A total of 46 participants from the Ministries of Labor of 20 countries and workers and employers' organizations gathered at the RIAL Workshop "Strategies to Improve Compliance with Labor Legislation", held in San Jose, Costa Rica, on December 6 - 7.
During two days, the delegates -representing all the sub-regions of the Hemisphere- reflected on the challenges and areas of opportunity in terms of strengthening labor inspection through innovative approaches and with special emphasis on protecting the rights of freedom of association and collective bargaining; alternate resolution of individual and collective conflicts; and inter-institutional coordination between Labor Ministries and other public institutions.
Finally, the delegates worked in sub-groups to identify challenges, lessons learned and policy recommendations to improve compliance with labor legislation. The conclusions of the event will be available soon. Read more
