Inter-sectoral Workshop on Skills for the Future,
May 16 - 17 in Santiago de Chile 
On May 16 and 17, 2019, officials from the Ministries of Labor and Education of the Americas will gather in Santiago de Chile to analyze trends on the future of work, exchange concrete experiences to improve coordination among education and labor, and support the education and professional training systems in developing skills for the future. These are the final dates of the event, which was originally announced for May 9 and 10. More information about the Workshop will be sent during the coming weeks.

March 15th, new deadline to submit proposals to 12th RIAL Call

As requested by some countries, the deadline to submit proposals for RIAL Bilateral Cooperation has been extended to March 15. We invite all Ministries to join this Call, which will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences to strengthen labor and employment policies and programs.

Partake in a one-week program designed for leaders of the public, private and academic sectors to strengthen their knowledge on topics of special importance for countries' economic development and the preparation of the labor force. The fifty participants of the Americas Competitiveness Exchange (ACE) program will visit a multitude of places, which will include business accelerators and incubators, advanced research and technology centers, universities, development programs, companies, etc. The program seeks to accelerate the collaboration opportunities between our countries and to move towards the future along with innovation and new technologies.

The international community celebrates the World Day of Social Justice 

On February 20, the international community celebrated the World Day of Social Justice, which, according to the United Nations, seeks to promote "the work (...) aimed at eradicating poverty and promoting full employment and decent work, gender equality and access to social welfare and social justice for all". 
From OAS-RIAL, we reaffirm our commitment to continue working towards these goals along with the Ministries, workers and employers of the hemisphere.
