Last arrangements to begin RIAL Bilateral cooperation activities
The delegations of Ecuador and Honduras are preparing to travel to Panama and Colombia, respectively, within the framework of the RIAL. The officials of the Ministry of Labor of Ecuador will learn about the Panamanian experience on Youth Employment, while Honduran officials will be instructed about the Colombian practices regarding the eradication of Child Labor. Colombia has a new Minister of Labor 
On August 7, Alicia Arango took office as Minister of Labor of Colombia. Appointed by the new President, Iván Duque, Alicia Arango has worked in public service under various positions, in addition to serving as representative of Colombia to the United Nations and the International Labor Organization.

Workers from the US and Uruguay will be able toa add years worked in both countries for retirement
On August 3, the United States Congress ratified the Social Security agreement with Uruguay. This allows that the national workers who have divided their careers in both countries, will be able to compute for their labor history the years worked legally in each one, facilitating that they reach the years required for their retirement.
