WEEKLY UPDATE FOR APRIL 5, 2020
At the direction of Public Health experts, the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre will remain closed until further notice.

We know this is a difficult time for you and your families. We hope that you can take part in some of our online classes which we are expanding this week to include more children’s programsmore fitness classes, an instructional cooking class and Community Coffee.

CANADIAN TIRE JUMPSTART PLAY FROM HOME CLASSES


Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It's about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Whether it's the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favourite one, no kid should be left out.

This week we launch Jumpstart Play from Home fitness classes made possible by Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities.

COOKING WITH CHEF MIKE

Chef Mike demonstrates easy, flavorful, health-inspired dishes.  Whether it be a simple side, healthy snack or entree, Chef Mike shows how together we can feed our families and ourselves with proper nutrition in mind.

Come along for the journey together, in his personal home kitchen as we gather around the virtual kitchen table.

All classes will go live 5 minutes prior to start times. This is the perfect time to join the class and say hi
to the instructor and other participants! 

Class Descriptions

Barre incorporates various exercises with elements of ballet, Pilates and yoga to challenge muscle endurance, core stability and balance. Barre workouts are designed to help achieve a “dancer’s body”: strong and sleek.

Better Bones is a muscular conditioning class with an emphasis on bone health. Stand taller and look lighter with core activation, improved posture and balance and become stronger for activities of daily living.

Hatha Flow uses hot energy through dynamic movements to strengthen and warm the muscles and cold energy to bring balance and relaxation to the body. It is a slow flow that is manageable for most beginners.

Latin Dance Cardio is a groovy sweat heavy class inspired by the Latin and Urban flavor rhythms of Reggaeton, Dancehall, Salsa, Bachata and more! You will burn calories, strengthen your core and tone muscles all while having a blast dancing to Latin music.

Total Body is our answer to your at-home resistance training needs! With no equipment required, this full-body workout will get you sweating and your muscles working no matter where you are. *Options to use equipment may be provided for some exercises so keep any weights/resistance bands you have nearby.

Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a high energy fitness program. The routines combines fast and slow rhythms and resistance training to tone while burning fat.
