It was great to see so many of you at the Unknown Blues Band's sold out show last month! it was amazing and a great way to kick-off our grand re-opening. We are also so grateful to be part of a community who cares so much for each other - you wore masks and brought proof of vaccination - so we could make sure everyone stayed safe and healthy. We also learned some lessons about livestreaming that we will put to use for our second show of the season, Downtown Bob Stannard & Those Dangerous Bluesmen, which has SOLD OUT ! (Livestream available thanks to Ned and Lauren Pike.)
We are all so excited to welcome Bob Stannard and his special guests (which are substantial and many) for his farewell show tonight.
The season is just getting started! More information below about what is coming up in YOUR Vergennes Opera House.

He has a very impressive list of guest artists coming to perform including Nick Charyk, the grandson of Arlo Guthrie for the opening act, and Grammy nominated vocalist Gina Coleman.

The Price of Safety - a new documentary by a local filmmaker
Join us for the Vergennes premiere of our film at the Vergennes Opera House. The filmmakers are asking for a $10 suggested donation per ticket with the proceeds benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Vergennes. There will be a Q&A afterward with the filmmakers and a special guest Professor Stephanie Seguino, author of the report "Trends in Racial Disparities in Vermont Traffic Stops - 2014-2019".
The 16th Annual Broadway Direct is gearing up to be another memorable evening with the return of our professional performers LIVE on stage. Last year we presented five videos to get us through the "pandemic months" while the opera house was closed (links to the videos can be found at the top of our events page here), but this year it is 'game on!'
Bill Carmichael (Walsh) has enlisted the help of some familiar past performers, Elisa Van Duyne and Kathrine Markey, to bring this show to life. And, as per usual, there will be a few local student performers as well. More details to come but while you wait, DON'T WAIT to buy your tickets as this show always sells out.
Vergennes Opera House Board Member Steve Sawyer is our volunteer coordinator. If you are interested in helping out, please email us at email@example.com and let us know. There's plenty to do - greet people, sell tickets, help backstage and in the green room, place posters all around, organize the box office - whatever your talent, we can put it to good use and have fun in the process! We have plenty of information on our website if you want to get involved - as a financial sponsor, as a volunteer or as a patron of the arts.
NEW THIS YEAR! If you volunteer for a show, you will receive a ticket to another show of your choice (or the show you are ushering, if you want to invite a guest)!
Don't worry, here is a nice list for you (put together by our friends at the Vergennes Partnership) to quickly access information about the many incredible offerings located in the little city area. Dining in Vergennesis just click away! Click on any image below to access each restaurant's website.
