Salil Munjal Selected to Chair TMX-backed Innovation Roundtable

Yaletown’s Salil Munjal has been chosen to chair the Accelerating Innovation Roundtable, an initiative announced by the TMX Group to examine ways to increase access to growth capital for Canadian technology companies. The roundtable of investment community leaders will bring forward recommendations to address the scalability issues faced by Canadian technology and innovation firms as they experience insufficient growth funding beyond the initial seed and start-up stages.

At the Roundtable announcement, TMX Group CEO Lou Eccleston commented, "TMX is focused on powering the development of an innovation economy in Canada. Canadian capital markets are vital to helping entrepreneurs through the crucial start-up phase, but also later in the financing chain as their companies scale up to become market leaders. The Roundtable recommendations will help accelerate the growth of Canadian businesses and better position Canada's economy for high-quality economic development and job creation."

Salil was selected to chair the Roundtable because of his experience in both the private and public markets as a leading investor and business leader. He is a determined champion of Canada’s technology sector driving change that will enable Canadian innovation companies to grow efficiently and become world leaders.
