It is now officially the school summer holidays and what a journey we have all been on to get here. With the removal of most of the Covid-19 restrictions, Lancashire continues to make the safety of our visitors its top priority.
It is great to see the return of some of Lancashire's famous and much loved events, such as The Dukes Walkabout Theatre, Highest Point Festival and Chorley Flower Show. They have been greatly missed. Also, new creative experiences will delight visitors this summer such as the Luminarium in Blackburn. The organisers are operating under new challenging conditions, but as ever our industry rises to the challenge for our visitors.

New govt hospitality strategy launched
A new strategy to ensure England’s pubs, bars, restaurants and other hospitality venues can thrive long-term and adapt to consumer demands has been launched by Business Minister Paul Scully (16 July).
The Hospitality Strategy focuses on reopening, recovery and resilience.
To support the industry in its reopening, the Strategy sets out measures including highlighting opportunities in the hospitality industry to jobseekers through DWP’s dedicated work coaches and helping the sector address current recruitment challenges.

Lancashire City of Culture Bid 2025 Bid Update
After an intense few weeks of discussion with partners, the Lancashire 2025 team has announced that on Monday 19 July, an expression of interest was submitted for Lancashire to become UK City of Culture in 2025.
