Update on office closure

Protecting staff and service users

We are pleased to say that Edinburgh Tenants Federation (ETF) continues to operate during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.  The Albion Trust has been liaising with the Scottish Government regarding the re-opening of Norton Park and are keeping us up to date.  At present, the Scottish Government do not intend to make a statement regarding the re-opening of non essential offices before 10th September 2020.

Whilst the office base is closed staff continue to operate from home and can still be contacted in the usual ways - email by clicking here or by phoning 0131 475 2509 and they will do their best to assist you.

On behalf of everyone at ETF, stay safe and take care.

ETF Annual General Meeting

Planning is underway

ETF's Annual General Meeting (AGM) is one of the most important events in our calendar and this year, it's going to be a bit different.  The AGM will take place on Friday 27th November 2020, time to be confirmed, online via Zoom.

By now all ETF's member groups should have received an invitation to submit proposals to amend the constitution and propose resolutions regarding the work of the Federation.  If your group has not received this information please email the Federation office by clicking here or phone 0131 475 2509.  Proposals to amend the constitution must be received in the Federation Office by Friday 25th September 2020

As we are having to do things differently and hold the meeting online, we are still busy planning how to make this a fun and successful event involving as many member groups and tenants as possible.  To access Zoom, create an account by clicking here and download the app onto your device.  To find out more about how to use Zoom, please get in touch with ETF's Admin Assistant Aadam Hussain by emailing here or phone 07399 584 282.
In our next edition, you will find out more information about our forthcoming AGM and other events.  Don't forget that Federation Matters, along with other Federation publications, can be downloaded from our website by clicking here.

Want to campaign for more social housing
If you've experienced long waits for social housing or transfers to more suitable social housing, then you might be interested in Shelter's campaign for a new building programme.

Shelter hopes to be able to give a platform to people to speak out about the impact of having no choice but to live in expensive or inadequate accommodation.
While first-hand stories tend to be the most powerful, Shelter would also like to make contact with community representatives who can speak out on behalf of local groups.  Please share this appeal with anyone you know who you think might be interested in taking part.  To find out more, please get in touch with Susie Rose by emailing here or phone 0344 515 2442.
Scottish Housing Regulator COVID-19 Consultation
ETF recently submitted a response to the Scottish Housing Regulator's consultation to its Regulatory Framework to enable it to continue to respond during the COVID-19 pandemic.  You can download a copy of ETF's response by clicking here.  Alternatively, please contact ETF's Development Worker Mark Henry by emailing here or phone 07918 742 468 to request a copy.
