Virtual Meeting of the authorities of the IACML 
On February 13th, the authorities of the Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor, COSATE, and CEATAL, under the Chairmanship of the Ministry of Labour of Barbados, held a virtual meeting to monitor compliance of the 2018-2020 Work Plan, decide on next activities, advance the discussion of the agenda for the next Ministerial, and review the financial situation of the RIAL. Within the framework of the meeting, the delegation of Argentina reaffirmed its interest to host the XXI IACML in December 2020. Excellent news!

Deadline extended to submit proposals to the 13th RIAL Call!
On Friday, February 14th, the Technical Secretariat of the RIAL-OAS announced the extension of the deadline for the Ministries to submit proposals to the 13th Call for Bilateral Cooperation. The new deadline is March 5th. All the information is available at the RIAL website.

RIAL Gender Workshop will be held from May 19th to the 21st in Argentina

Within the framework of the Virtual Meeting, it was announced that the RIAL Workshop on the Institutionalization of a Gender Approach in the Ministries of Labor will take place from May 19th to the 21st in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This Workshop targets the units, offices, or teams that lead gender mainstreaming within the Ministries. Save the date in your agenda!

RIAL-OAS participates in virtual meeting of the focal points of the Regional Initiative against child labor 
On February 7th, the Technical Secretariat of the RIAL-OAS participated in the virtual meeting of the focal points of the ILO Regional Initiative Latin America and Caribbean Free of Child Labor, where it presented the activities undertaken by the RIAL and some of the advancements achieved in the eradication of child labor through workshops and bilateral activities. It also invited participants to submit proposals to the 13th Call for Bilateral Cooperation. The OAS reiterates the commitment to join efforts with the ILO and the governments of the region to deepen cooperation around the eradication of child labor.
Applications are now open for the 13th Americas Competitiveness Exchange (ACE)!

Apply before March 25th and be part of the 50 regional and global leaders who will travel through Denver, Jefferson County, and El Paso County (Colorado Springs) in Colorado, United States. The selected participants will visit more than 20 innovation hubs and have the opportunity to connect with local authorities and leaders who are designing the cities of the future, accelerating business development, promoting the bio-economy, reinventing production processes, leading mitigation efforts of natural disasters and forest fires, and solving some of the most pressing health problems in the world. The program will take place from May 17 to 22, 2020.
