Never Stop Learning
Learning has many positive effects on our overall well being. It exposes us to new ideas, keeping us curious and engaged. It gives us a sense of achievement, boosting our self-confidence and resilience. It gives us a sense of belonging, camaraderie, friendship. It gives us a sense of freedom, doing something for ourselves rather than for others. Its fun!
There are many ways to keep your brain and body healthy and active. We can share a skill with friends, learn to sing, to line-dance, to speak another language or even to write a novel. We can slow down with meditation or tai chi, slim down with aqua aerobics or just chill out over a ball of yarn, a shared cuppa or a meal.
U3A Gympie promotes healthy ageing by sharing educational, creative and leisure activities, all provided by our own members. We ask for no qualifications for membership and award no degrees or diplomas. We are all volunteers, offering our members a range of classes, some form of physical exercise and social interactions.
Now is a good time to check out one of our other classes, to see if there is something you might enjoy. Remember you can try an activity before you decide to join. Invite your friends. They can try too, even if they are not yet members. The six weeks before we break for the summer are an ideal time to do just that. You, or your friends may even realise there is an activity you could tutor.
So check our website (u3agympie.com) or Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/u3agympie), or talk to our Class Coordinator, Denice.
