The government of Bangladesh signed an agreement with the Netherlands, the World Bank and 2030 WRG/IFC to strengthen management of the Bangladesh Delta. It is Asia’s largest and the world’s most populated delta.

September marked the successful completion of the first analytical study that prioritized investments to close the water gap in coastal catchments. The government has formally adopted the results of the prioritization study by adopting the methodology as a legal norm across the whole country.

The National Water Commission in Mexico, CONAGUA, has signed a Cooperation Accord with 2030 WRG on addressing the development of a capital investment prioritization system, analyzing challenges and opportunities for private sector involvement in the water sector and the establishment of a multi-stakeholder platform.

The Indian State of Uttar Pradesh will collaborate with 2030 WRG to work towards river rejuvenation and sustainable and equitable water management including good irrigation practices through participative multi-stakeholder processes in the State.

Zama Siqalaba has been recruited as the new Program Manager for the Strategic Water Partners Network (SWPN) in South Africa. She has been involved in numerous water projects throughout South Africa and will be supporting a number of projects underway.

BRAC has officially joined the 2030 WRG Governing Council. This was formally approved in the last 2030 WRG Governing Council meeting in January in Davos, Switzerland. BRAC is an international development organization based in Bangladesh and is active in a number of countries around the world.

2030 WRG is organizing an international knowledge exchange in South Africa in February 2016. The meeting is a second in a series of knowledge exchanges bringing together leading representatives from the public, private and CSO community working in our partner countries.

The 2030 WRG has brought together new case studies from around the world of currently available, replicable and practical solutions for water use transformation. The solutions have been added to the online catalogue 'Managing water use in scarce environments'. The team is welcoming additional case studies to be added.

Catalyzing PPPs in India's Ganga rejuvenation efforts

A joint rejuvenation journey with the Ministry for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation has recently started. One of the activities will focus on catalyzing PPPs in urban and industrial wastewater treatment in a particular river segment.

SWPN South Africa case study launched at 3GF Forum

At the 3GF Regional Conference in Kenya, the joint publication ‘Perspectives on Green Growth Partnerships – Strategic Water Partners Network’ was launched. It provides insights into how partnerships can be a solution to green growth and what helps them succeed.
