Welcome to the first edition of the BeWater Project Newsletter!

Twice a year we will bring you up-to date with the main issues and events going on in BeWater. We will explore some of the concepts that make up the project in more detail and each edition will include links to upcoming events and other news.  Contributions with information about upcoming activities and events and any other useful links are most welcome!

BeWater: Science and society adapting to global change in the Mediterranean basin
Projections of future climate change point to increasing water scarcity and drought in the Mediterranean region.This will cause serious socioeconomic loss and have significant environmental impact.

The communities based around Mediterranean River Basins will be highly affected by these changes, yet they are not necessarily consulted when scientists and managers plan solutions for the future. Continue reading

BeWater Consortium Workshop
Pedieos, Cyprus

21-23 October

Members of the BeWater project Consortium will meet in Pedieos to discuss matters related to all aspects of the project, sharing progress on pending and upcoming tasks and collaborating on future planning and strategy. The meeting will also include a visit to the Pedieos River Basin.

European Water Partnership (EWP)via the German Water Partnership, which has the opportunity to present their work at the Germany Govt / GIZ / BMZ pavilion stand. continue reading.
