Increasing our mindfulness is a beautiful act of self care. Many people think meditation is the only way to practice mindfulness, but that is not true. Yes, meditation is a great way to be more mindful but it is not the only way. Jon Kabat-Zinn is the founder of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programs and this quote is a reminder of a benefit of being more present, in the moment.

Other activities like music, art, gardening, sitting at the beach and walking in nature are also opportunities to cultivate mindfulness by focusing on purpose, in the moment, non-judgmentally.

What is Maximize Wellness?
As a licensed clinical therapist I help people with symptoms of stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, and/or going through challenging life transitions or medical issues to gain balance, confidence, mental and emotional stability, and thrive. I use an integrative, process-based, collaborative approach to psychotherapy incorporating tools from multiple evidenced-based models.  Sessions are held at 10 Fairmount Avenue, Chatham, NJ. Teletherapy is available for anyone in NJ. Therapy sessions are considered "out of network" with your insurance provider, however I will provide all the necessary information for you to submit to your managed care provider for reimbursement.
