Month in November! We are proud to be a state that is proactively offering our
communities the opportunity to display their college and career readiness skills.
We will be using this document as a way to open doors in conversations
with Educators, Employers, and Job Seekers for many months to come.
We are ending this year on a high note as the number of NCRC's this year has been concluded at

So why is this so great? Not only are we getting closer to achieving Certified WorkReady Communities; we are becoming a closer team. There is a strong partnership between many different departments working together to move this initiative forward and each partner plays a vital role in the success of the National Career Readiness Certificate as well as Certified WorkReady Communities.
WE ARE MAKING AN IMPACT IN OUR COMMUNITIES, I would like to share just one example with you. Recently we had the opportunity to partner with the local WorkSource Office and bring Proctoring to a school in Central Oregon. The group of students we worked with were "At Risk" and have experienced many challenges. One student in particular needed to pass Reading and Math for graduation in order to become a United States Marine and attain the goals he had set for himself and his future... This student achieved a 5 in both Math and Reading and thus will move forward in the opportunity to serve his country. There are many success stories out in our communities both with job seekers and students. This is why 10,074 is something to celebrate!

We have a new way to communicate with each other! Check out the Weebly site that has been created- you will find many documents, power points, and presentation materials for all audiences. Feel free to download these materials to your desktop and edit them to match your needs.  This site will hold all of the information that has been shared for best practices throughout the state to ensure we all have access to it. There is also a blog space provided to allow an opportunity for  peer to peer questions and advice on all things NCRC and CWRC. Lastly, you will  find a performance page which has the most current data for each county and includes all goals both legislative and ACT. Please take a few moments to browse the new site and share feedback on the site if you wish!

Within the last 6 months 50 schools in Oregon have signed on to offer the WorkKeys assessments to their students giving them the opportunity to achieve an NCRC and  prove College and Career Readiness. We will be hosting an implementation conference in January for educators, partners, and business professionals in the greater Portland area. We plan to share the impact of the NCRC as well as how it is being introduced successfully within our local schools. This conference will be held the third week of January for about 2-3 hours. Details will follow shortly.
