What does your remote office look like?

Collaboration Superpowers: Stories Of Remote Teams Doing Great Things is set to be published in April 2015. One of the chapters is focused on remote workspaces. Send a photo of your workspace to potentially be included in the book.
  • Send your photo to lisette@lisettesutherland.com (or just reply to this email).
  • The picture should give us an impression of how you work. Bonus points if you're in the photo!
  • Generally, the more pixels, the better.
  • If the photo size is greater than 10MB, please use WeTransfer or YouSendIt.
  • Please send only JPG or PNG format.
  • Send a description with your picture. Tell us what you love about your space and why it works for you.

Interview highlights

Bandwidth is one of the critical pillars for remote working. Bandwidth is like oxygen. It should always be in plenty supply. Maarten Koopmans

Stick to the facts online and save the complicated emotional stuff for a higher bandwidth channel like video chat or a face-to-face meeting. Peter Hilton

Regardless of what you do in social networks, I advise you to have your own personal blog because there is no guarantee that the major social networking tools will be there in 10 years. Your blog will. Luis Suarez

We try to take what we have in the “normal” co-located workplace into the virtual setting - but there’s a lot we can learn from the virtual setting that we can apply back in more traditional settings. Remote working is actually going to revolutionize the in-office experience at some point. Pilar Orti

Don't forget, you can pre-order the book. Rumors of special bonus gifts may not be exaggerated.

Thanks for reading. And I look forward to seeing your remote offices!
