New Library Building Update:  As we await more news on grants, I'm happy to say the library has currently received $20,645 from our residents in support of the new library. This is just from residents! It's nice to see the support the library has in the community. We are working hard to raise the additional funds and know we have made it through the first rounds on some grants with final decisions to be learned in October.  Keep checking our Facebook page for weekly updates (sometimes daily) for our progress. We share the news as soon as we are allowed.

We have a deadline of late December in raising the needed funds to build in 2018. If you haven't donated yet, but are considering doing so, please donate before December. Have you thought of donating $75 in honor of our 75th anniversary? The new library will not be built without YOU! We plan on being around for at least another 75 years!
The Friends wine tasting event has been canceled. Due to a low number of early ticket sales, it was not possible for the Friends to hold this event. Those who purchased tickets will receive a refund.
Registration for Story Hour is now underway. This program is for children ages 3 -5 and will be on Tuesday morning beginning in mid-September. Due to space limitations, the group is limited to 12 children . To register or for more information, contact the library at 642.8621.
Tickets for the quilt raffle are available too. Tickets are $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00 and can be purchased at the library. The drawing for this queen size patriotic designed quilt will be held on October 2.
Join us for a Solar Eclipse Party on Monday, August 21st from 1:30 pm - 3 pm on the grass behind the library!  We will have a craft, moon snack, and FREE solar glasses.  Glasses will be handed out at 2:10 pm to the first 196 people.  You must be in attendance at the party in order to get the solar glasses.

It's MAP time--all year long! Though really, it is available all year round! As everyone begins to enjoy the beauty of living in Michigan, be sure to check out the Michigan Activity Pass at www.michiganactivitypass.info You can search by zip code to find events and locations that participate in MAP; then enter your information to get tickets or discounts on the events you are interested in.
