Welcome

The University of Delaware’s proud tradition of research excellence compels us to continually explore the unknown, to innovate new solutions and to expand our knowledge of ourselves and our world.

This robust culture extends to every field of study — the sciences, engineering, health, the arts and the humanities. Indeed, the most difficult challenges of sustainable energy, social justice, economic equality and more will demand the expertise of multiple disciplines and perspectives. Our quest finds its highest purpose when it enriches lives, strengthens communities and helps us create a better world.

At UD, we are privileged to be leading this great journey of enlightenment and discovery to move our society forward.

Sincerely,

Dennis Assanis
President

Research, scholarship and the arts in service to society are the lifeblood of a research university. It is the integration of these scholarly pursuits into our curriculum at the University of Delaware that attracts students around the globe.

As highlighted herein, UD faculty, students and staff are leading efforts to uncover the secrets of the universe, cure chronic diseases, cultivate creative thinking, and improve and expand access to education.

Welcome to the UD Research E-Newsletter. Publishing monthly, it features a broad range of timely information—from recognizing the excellence of UD’s scholarly and creative activities to providing resources for research administrators.

Sincerely,

Charlie Riordan
Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Innovation
