In case you need it, here's the link to the generic Daily Health Screening.

SPS COVID Dashboard Link

The district's Business Intelligence and Health Services teams partnered to design a public-facing dashboard showing confirmed COVID-19 cases at Seattle Public Schools. Refreshed weekly on Mondays, this dashboard disaggregates (dividing data into parts) cases by region, week, and role to provide an understanding of the pandemic across the district.

Connecting With Carpools For In-Person/Hybrid Learning Option

As families have heard, SPS is not able to provide transportation to the majority of our students who choose the in-person/hybrid learning option.  In addition, JAMS and the JAMS PTSA are prohibited from coordinating and providing transportation due to liability issues.  However, we can point you in the right direction!  If you are interested in forming or joining a carpool for your JAMS student, parents are utilizing the JAMS Facebook group to coordinate rides to/from school.  You may also contact JAMS parent Trisha by email at tmatth@gmail.com by text at 206-779-3265 and she will help coordinate.

And, if you carpool with people outside of your family, follow these guidelines to decrease your risk of contracting COVID:

  • Driver and all passengers wear masks
  • Windows are open to increase ventilation
  • Sit as far apart as possible
  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces between trips
  • Keep carpool members consistent to decrease exposures

Stay well, Jaguars!

Important Message From the JAMS School Nurse

A big Jaguar welcome to our new JAMS nurse, Kelly Yukevich!  Below is a message that she would like to share with families in our JAMS community.

Medications
If you are planning on sending your child back to school and they have a life threatening medical condition such as Asthma, Life Threatening Allergies, Epilepsy, Diabetes, etc. please make sure you complete this Medication Authorization Form (see link below) with your child’s care provider and return it to me.  Remember that any medication provided at school, whether it is a cough drop, Tylenol or prescribed medication, needs to have a Medication Authorization form completed.  It is very important to have this completed prior to having your child come into the school, regardless if your child self-administers.  As many of our children have become more independent, if they self-administer their medication, please ensure that this box is checked on the form, so your child can carry the medication with them.

Immunizations
We want to protect every student from communicable diseases especially during COVID-19. If your child is lacking school-district required vaccines, you have been contacted or the district has tried to reach you. There are teen vaccines that are not required for school but are recommended by the Center for Disease Control. These are: Hepatitis A (2 doses), Meningococcal B (2 doses) , Meningococcal A(1 or 2 doses), HPV (2 or 3 doses). All of these are available through the School-based health centers or through https://www.kingcounty.gov/depts/health/communicable-diseases/immunization/clinics.aspx

Our neighboring Hale High School has a School Based Health Clinic with immunizations available now for ages 4-18. They wish to help you get your students up to date now! Contact Linda Quimby directly at 206-302-1840 for questions or to set up a visit. This is free for ALL Seattle Public School students.

My job is to support your child’s health and learning especially during these challenging times. I can speak to you on the phone, or through online platforms. I can be reached: Nurse Office Phone:  (206) 252-4507 Fax: (206) 743-3198   Days available:  Monday – Friday from 8:30am-4:00pm. If you would like to talk with me outside these listed hours, please ask and I will try to accommodate.

Thank you and looking forward to seeing your children in the schools!  As always, if you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
