Traverse Creek Botanical Area Restoration Event
Wednesday, April 27

CSNC and volunteers will be making repairs to the Traverse Creek Special Botanical Area in Garden Valley, where illegal vehicle use threatens Federal and State listed plants and historic and prehistoric sites. We will be blocking illegal entry points and covering tracks with rock and on-site mulch woody debris to deter future illegal use and allow the sites to recover.

We will meet at the Traverse Creek Parking Lot at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers coming from Placerville can meet the CSNC crews at the Raley's parking lot at 8:30 a.m. to carpool to the site. We will return before 5 p.m. It is likely to be a little chilly in the morning this time of year, so please bring a jacket and layer up! Bring a lunch, water bottle, sturdy shoes or boots, gloves, sun protection, and anything you might want for a day in the forest.

To RSVP, for more information, or to coordinate travel plans, please email Kayla at or call our office at 530-206-7061.

For questions day of the event,
