Up coming Eco-Day
Earth Day 22 April 2018
Every year 22 April is celebrated as the Earth Day. The day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. Earth Day 2018 will focus on fundamentally changing human attitude and behavior about plastics and catalyzing a significant reduction in plastic pollution with the theme- End Plastic Pollution.
To celebrate the same LEC has come up with a unique Bird Shelter Making workshop for corporates wherein the employees can volunteer to make a birds nest, bird feeder and birds nest material box from waste plastic bottles, which can be installed in the area to support the local birds.

A plantation review visit was conducted on 27 March 2018 at the butterfly habitat at Shri Jayeshwar Vidyamandir, Jawhar. It was a pleasure to see the plants in bloom. We had created the butterfly habitat in 2015 on a dry and barren land and now the place is full of myriad colours of flowers and butterflies. While interacting with the school Principal and teachers we got to know that the butterfly habitat has not only attracted butterflies but has also helped in improving the soil quality. Apart from the butterflies, the habitat has also attracted birds, insects, amphibians, and reptiles. It has also helped in improving the student's attendance.
