Community Guide and Engagement Provider

Y2K Ministry applied for and was approved to become a Community Guide and Engagement Provider through Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. Under contract within King County, we will join Developmental Disabilities Administration in transforming the lives of people in need of services to realize their personal goals.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms

I Peter 4:10 (NIV)

Power of Prayer

Y2K Ministry Prayer Team regularly receives prayer requests from all over.  And, we also receive updates on answered prayer.  There is Power in prayer!

How may we pray for you?

"Hear my prayer, O Lord, Give ear to my supplications!
In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness."

Psalm 143:1 (NKJV)

Hospice Visits

Y2K Ministry will often visit people who are sick or shut-in.  Over the past few months, I scheduled visits with a gentleman, Fred Jensen, who was terminally ill.  He was receiving hospice care at home.  His daughter had moved Fred home to live with her and her family, as he was nearing the end stages of life.

Fred was such a delight to visit.  He loved the Lord and read his Bible everyday.  I would pray with him and just sit and listen to his life's stories. Fred was a single parent. He reared his two daughters and foster kids.  Fred had a passion for the Japanese language.  Not only could he speak Japanese, but he could read and write the characters too.  Fred also enjoyed a lucrative career in computer programming.

He was without complaints, even as he lie dying in bed or sitting in his wheelchair.  One day Fred said to me, "I don't know if I know how to die."  I responded, "I don't think any of us knows how to die."  Quite the contrary, he died with dignity giving honor to God until his last breath.  God called Fred home on July 4th at 2:56 PM.  In his well-lived and accounted for 74 years of life, this man touched many with his gentleness and spirit of humility.  Fred will be sorely missed by his surviving family, relatives, and friends.

Shelter Feeding

Y2K Ministry continues to prepare and serve hot meals at Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets monthly on the fourth Tuesday.  We are always looking for volunteers to help serve and make a difference in the lives of shelter participants. If you are interested in joining our volunteer team complete an application and see if there is a suitable volunteer opportunity for you.

We look forward to serving with you and meeting the needs of people in our community!

Fundraiser Outcome

Praise God, our net proceeds were $2,060.23.  The funds will be used for our community outreach feeding program to people at tent cities, tiny house villages, shelters, day centers, and standing on the streets.

It was an amazing time for all who attended including individuals who walked in off the street
God really blessed our fellowship.  We left the breakfast full of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, coffee, tea, and orange juice.

Thanks to all our volunteers, donors, supporters, family, friends, and board members who made this a successful event!

"I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you."
Psalm 63:5 (NIV)
