"People are the heart of the matter."

Welcome to the third edition of Yield to the King Ministry (Y2K Ministry) newsletter.  As we consider this past year, Y2K Ministry must say it was a rewarding journey. Our hearts are grateful for all that the Lord has done.

Y2K Ministry continues to operate in a giving-back mode asking the questions what's next? Who's next? And, where to next? God always provides an answer.  Peoples' needs are so overwhelming, but we are not discouraged.  With a thankful heart we rejoice in our sufficiency and praise God for the resources we have to do what we can, when and how we can.

During this holiday season, please remember the individuals and families who are hungry, homeless and displaced.  Day by day, together we are making a difference!

Fundraiser Update
We raised over $4,200.00.  Our Harvest for the Hungry giving campaign will run through the end of 2018.  It's never too late to donate!

On September 22, we had a great time at Y2K Ministry's Harvest for the Hungry Fundraiser with silent auction!  We give kudos to our very own local celebrities!  Isaac Meyer shared his musical talent by playing piano and singing. Nakeya Isabell ministered to our souls through spoken word.  Both of them released albums this year.  They were awesome!

We express gratitude to our many patrons who donated silent auction and raffle items.  You gave generously.  We wish we could list all of your names and establishments here!

Thank you Y2K Ministry Board of Directors and volunteers for sharing your time and resources endlessly.  Your dedication to Y2K Ministry makes it all happen!

In appreciation and recognition of the Board and volunteers, Y2K Ministry presented them with a 1-1/2 inch AttaCoin to say thank you.  One side of the coin said "Awarded For - Going Above and Beyond".  The flip side said "Thank You - You've Made A Difference".  An acrylic holder to display the coin was included.  The coin said it very well --all in all, we can't do it without you!

Clothing Drive
Y2K Ministry needs clothing for men, women, and children!  We welcome new or gently used coats, boots, shoes, shirts, blouses, pants, sweaters, hats, gloves and scarves of all sizes. Contact us for pickup or drop off (206) 552-9202.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets,
as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others.
Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Matthew 6:2-4 (NIV)

Community Resource Fair
Meet and Greet
Y2K Ministry participated in the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) Community Resource Fair.  On October 2, we joined other vendors and community-based organization to meet and greet DDA Case Resource Managers.

Y2K Ministry is a newly contracted DDA Community Guide and Engagement Provider.  We are excited about this opportunity. Clients are referred to us through DDA Case Resource Managers.  Vendor representatives and Managers stopped by our resource table.  We answered questions about our person-centered programs and services and provided give-a-ways (ink pens, business card magnets, keychain flashlights, letter openers, reusable shopping bags, and brochures).  The time was well spent. Partnering with Washington State's DDA is another pathway to meeting the needs of people in our communities and a perfect complement to our mission and vision statements.
This Holiday Season
We pray that you and yours experience the abundance of God's goodness, especially His joy and peace. Happy Holidays!
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Romans 15:13 (NIV)
