Excitement in April

What's a Happening Now...

The sun is shining the weather is sweet.  Spring is here and summer is right around the corner.  We are thrilled to announce new programs and sailing opportunities for youth and adults and looking forward to our Soiree on the Sea fundraiser and our first ever Alumni Regatta.

First lets talk about high school sailing.  Local teams have been practicing on the water since mid January and competing in
North SAISA (South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association) which represents SC, NC, TN, and GA.  The points regattas have concluded for the season and Wando High School won the District points convincingly winning every event they entered.  There was a tight race for second with Beaufort edging out Lake Norman and James Island Charter High School.  The following 7 schools from North SAISA have qualified to go to Districts in Tampa the weekend of April 18-19, which also happens to be CRW. Congratulations to Wando, Beaufort H.S., Lake Norman, James Island, Academic Magnet, Ashley Hall, Waccamaw and Richmond Hill!  These teams will compete against 9 teams from Florida and the Caribbean.

We believe that the confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills learned by participating in our programs should benefit ALL children, not just those who can afford access to the water. Financial Aid is available for summer sailing classes and outreach programs will start end of April and we are always looking for volunteers and organizations to partner with to get kids on the water.  You are a part of our community, so contact us if you have an idea - we would LOVE to hear from you.

Thank you for your continued support of our mission!

Whether you used to sail, are currently sailing, trying to learn from your partner or have watched from ashore and always wanted to give it a try NOW IS THE TIME!
