NZHRA Monthly Newsletter - June 2014

Hi <<First Name>>, Welcome to the new look of our Monthly Member News!

During the past 16 weeks NZHRA has been getting around the country, meeting Clubs and Members to inform them of coming changes to the Incorporated Societies Act 1908, which the Government has been reviewing.

Lynley Ward and I have been present at these meetings to highlight the possible changes, and the impact they could have, not only on NZHRA but also our Member Clubs. These visits have been a good opportunity to look at our current constitution/rules and get the Membership/Clubs involved in any changes/rewrite the Membership may or may not like to consider. The focus has been on getting names of Members who would like to assist with this review/rewrite. We have already received a number of comments and offers of help from the Membership.
If you are interested in helping you can contact: Lynley or myself  (Warren) or post to NZHRA Po Box 454 Tauranga with attention to the Rulebook Revision.

Lynley and I are currently putting a report together for the next Executive meeting in July. However topics discussed included what NZHRA are doing, how they do it and the future. Most of the Membership did not envisage major changes. Many would like to get more information, which is something we have been focusing on over the past few years. At present we have just under 3500 members and only just under 3000 email addresses, we would like to get this number up, as this is one of our best ways to keep our members and clubs informed. Please be aware that we do not share these email addresses with outside organisations!

I would personally like to thank all the members for taking the time to come and meet me and sharing there views and ideas. Also thanks to Gary and Denise Underwood, Errol and Val Mollet, Steve and Lynn Van Steenis and Chris Hornblow and Raewyn Stacey for the accommodation. Finally thank you to the Zone Directors for organising meeting venues, accommodation and driving us to these meetings.

Once again thanks to all and I hope to catch up with many of you soon, I will be attending the CRC Speedshow and the Palmerston North Swapmeet in the coming months.

Regards Warren.
