At the board meeting on January 23, 2017, the board of education finalized their belief statements summarizing their position on how to best support CCSD59 students, staff, and community. This work has been ongoing and the board is proud to share their belief statements with the CCSD59 community.
The board reviewed a proposal of $4.1 million in capital improvement projects for the 2017-18 budget. These annually identified projects are outside the normal scope of routine maintenance. All of CCSD59’s buildings have been evaluated for the formulation of the proposed capital improvement project list.
This year, approximately half of the proposed funds are focusing on projects at Holmes Junior High School which include replacement of mechanical systems, hallway lockers, flooring, and portions of the roof. The balance of the projects include replacements of parking lots, flooring, and mechanical systems throughout the district. One project includes the cooperative effort and shared cost between CCSD59 and the Elk Grove Park District for the playground replacement at Salt Creek School.
Approval for this proposed capital improvement project list is scheduled for the board meeting scheduled on February 13, 2017.
