During Monday’s meeting, the board was presented with the first draft of the 2016-17 budget which has a target date of July 1, 2016 for public display and August 22, 2016 as the proposed adoption date.
Major projects that were in the proposed tentative budget include the building of the new administration center and kitchen, the first year implementation of the learning spaces for all the junior high schools, and other maintenance projects for the district.
As mentioned in communications from Dr. Fessler over the winter and spring, CCSD59 is continuing to develop a preK-8 curriculum that aligns to the outcomes and understandings necessary to prepare students to be successful for life. As this work progresses over the next year, each phase will be communicated with both staff and parents. One important aspect of the work is the creation of an implementation timeline to guide each phase of the work. To view the phases and target dates, click on the button below.

At Monday’s meeting, the board was presented the Strategy and Guidelines for Communications. This document outlines the recommendations for communications vehicles and frequencies. Each school, and the district, is in the process of enacting this strategy with the goal of being fully implemented for the start of the 2016-17 school year.
