Devonshire Presents Their “Future Teacher’s Club” to the Board
At the board meeting on March 6, 2017, Devonshire teachers and club sponsors Mrs. Ann Spangler and Mrs. Diane Johnson presented Devonshire’s Future Teacher’s Club to the board.
This is the inaugural year for the club, composed of second and third grade students who meet every week during lunch recess. The club, with 52 members this year, has a goal of helping young students develop their passion and interest in the field of education. The club also collaborates with the students of Mrs. Kim Sander of Elk Grove High School, who have an Educator's Rising/Prep Organization. On February 21, the members of the two clubs shared classroom observations, lunch, and meaningful conversations. Both are looking forward to participating in activities together in the future on how to best cultivate student interest in the field of education.
