Fellow Chilly Redeemerans,
I guess true winter had to show up *sometime*. Shall we give thanks that there is NO pressure to get to church this Sunday morning? Stay cozy and go to
www.redeemermilwaukee.org, where Aaron will have the worship service ready and a new podcast with guest (and former intern) Mark Fraley. Mark was arrested one evening last fall outside his home in Wauwatosa and will share connections to his faith journey as he processed that experience.
For Black History Month, we are taking inspiration from our pandemic patterns of life and will be sharing video/streaming recommendations to take in this month.
We gave out several coats and scarves at pantry yesterday, but we heard from several that they couldn’t use their grocery carts because the corners in several intersections in our neighborhood have not been shoveled out. Brrr . . . and grrrr.
Pray on the possibility for Redeemer to serve as a City of Milwaukee Health Department Vaccination site in coming months. I’ll let you know when we get confirmation.
You received your 2020 giving statements in the mail this past week. If you believe they are in error, please write to bookkeeper Lisa Walter at
lwalter@hilkerassociates.com. If you prayerfully decide God is calling on you to be more generous with what God has provided, consider increasing your giving for 2021 either online or with checks sent to: Redeemer Lutheran Church, 631 N. 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233.
Ash Wednesday (February 17th) is quickly approaching! Please let us know which Drive-Thru Ash Imposition you'd like to attend: 12pm-1pm or 5:30pm-6:30pm. You can either mark your attendance on the Facebook event (
click here) or call the office and leave a message with your preference.
Thank you!
Peace and warmth, Pastor Lisa
